Here is a piano solo by Sarah Grace for you to enjoy! Midnight Rhapsody.
This song is my baby. When my piano teacher gave it to me to play nearly a year ago, I wasn’t thrilled. (yeah, I know, temperamental artist!) But, after about a week of playing it, I loved it! There was just so much emotion and feeling packed in! For which reason I love rhapsodies. It is kind of like a sonata, with different sections that contain different emotions. Slow and quiet in this section, fast and boisterous in this one.
I loved pouring my heart into it each time a play it, and even though I have been playing it for a year, I still love playing it with passion! But as much as I loved it, this was a grueling piece to learn! I it took me about 6 months to learn it, and after that came the fine tuning of the all the louds and softs, crescendos, ritardandos etc. etc. I learned this piece for a piano SAT that I did earlier this year and received a score of 22 out of 24 points.
I must say, this song is SO fun to play on a “real” piano! We have a keyboard, and while it is a very nice keyboard, it is a completely different and amazing experience to play on a real piano!
The cover art was also very fun to do. As soon as I decided to record it, I had a very distinctive picture of how I wanted it to look. I had fun messing around with different settings and fonts, and I love the way it turned out!
I hope you guys enjoy this piece as much is I enjoyed learning, playing and producing it! Thanks so much for your support! God bless!
Blessings,
Sarah Grace
