“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”
to quote Charles Dickens. 2016 has been a crazy busy year, filled with good times, and hard times, but God has been faithful through it all!
Here is a recap of the things we have worked on in the last year:
In January, we released a song for the New year. It was a quiet month, as we wrapped up the final touches of our first audio drama.
In February, we released our first ever audio drama, Sarah, Plain and Tall. It was the product of a year’s worth of work, and a quite a few years’ worth of dreaming. We also released a short, 4-song “EP” about love, including Beautiful, How Deep the Father’s Love for Us, Live Like You’re Loved, and Even Me, which featured the vocal talents of Elisa Yvonne and Isabella. Live Like You’re Loved has by far become our most popular production, reaching over 1000 plays on Soundcloud. We also celebrated the release of Do Unto Others, a short audio drama produced by Audio Drama Alliance, in which Sarah Grace assisted in post-production.
In March, we released a short-form audio drama skit entitled Lies and Otherwise. Isabella’s debut into the script writing world was quite a success. We also released a piano duet version of Forever by Kari Jobe just in time for Easter.
We started a podcast in April, called Our Favorite Things | A ChatCast. The hosts, Victoria and Sarah Grace chat about their favorite media, everything from books and music, to audio dramas, and more! We have since released 12 episodes. We also released what is perhaps one of our favorite songs, A Jungle Book Medley. The Audio Drama Alliance released their second production in association with IFP.
We started our May with the release of Even When It Hurts, cover of Hillsong. It embodied some of our emotions as we struggled with the passing of a loved one. We also announced our next audio drama, Treasure Seekers, which is still in production. Also in May, we shared two piano solos, Midnight Rhapsody, and Moonlight Fantasy, by Sarah Grace and Victoria, respectively.
In June, we shared three songs, Times, cover of Tenth Avenue North, a piano solo No More Tears, and an a Capella version of It is Well, which we dedicated in loving memory of Sharon Felten. Mrs. Felten, who passed away on May 23rd, 2016, was an amazing wife, mama, friend, and musician, and we were honored to produce this song in her honor.
In July, we released a version of our country’s national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. We also kicked up production on Treasure Seekers and really got rolling.
August, we also busily worked away on Treasure Seekers, releasing one song, a Polonaise by Bach.
For September, we again released one song, The Acceleration of Time. The voice track editing for Treasure Seekers drew to a close, and we started working on Foley and sound design. Audio Drama Alliance released their 3rd production, also in association with IFP
In October we celebrated IFP’s first anniversary with a huge giveaway. We also shared the trailer and cover art for Treasure Seekers on World Audio Drama day. Audio Drama Alliance released their 4th production, written by none other than Victoria herself.
November 1st we released a song that was very dear to our hearts, More of You, cover of Colton Dixon. Also, we produced Still the One in honor of the 28th anniversary of two of the most important people in our lives, our parents, Brian and Michelle.
We kicked off December with our first ever music video! ‘December Song’ was a ton of fun to work on, and it was a pleasure working with our videographer, Matthew. We also shared a unique piano solo arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
That wraps up our 2016 year in recap! Thank you all so much for being on this journey with us. Without your support, we couldn’t continue doing what we are doing. You guys are the best! Here’s to 2017! God bless you all!
By God’s grace alone,
The team at Ichthus Family Productions.
