Sonatina In C + Question for YOU!

11/29/2017

Comments

Hey y'all,

Today we have a piano solo for you to enjoy!

I played this piece for an event called a Sonata-Sonatina Festival. It is an event that is open to all ages, in which you must perform a specific piece of music - a Sonata or Sonatina - from memory in front of an audience as well as a panel of judges. I was a little nervous, as it is a very formal event, and very different from any events I have done in the past. I've performed for an audience, and I've performed for a judge, but somehow the two together just added a whole new layer to the picture for me. :P

Despite the nervousness, I really enjoyed the experience, and received the highest score possible from the judges. After all the months of hard work, it was incredibly fulfilling to see it pay off on the form of a positive score.

Hope you enjoy!

Also, here's a question for you: what is one of your favorite Christmas songs that you would like to see us cover this holiday season? Let us know below, and if we choose your song, we'll give you a shout in the post!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

Cover of The Call + Why Have We Been So Silent??

8/19/2017

Hey everyone!

Today we have a song for you guys, although not from Victoria, but from Isabella. I think this may be the first song we’ve released of hers. We hope you enjoy it!

WHY HAVE WE BEEN SO SILENT LATELY!?!

So, you may have noticed we’ve been rather silent the last few months. Well, there’s lots of things going on around here, and lots of changes, leaving us with little time for IFP, unfortunately.

One of the biggest ones is IFP team member Luke is getting married this fall! He met his lovely fiancée, Rebecca, at work about a year ago. The wedding is in October. So, with this giant change happening, we are not sure how much time Luke will have to devote to IFP.

The happy couple, whom we have affectionately dubbed, "Captain Adorable and his Fiancee" ;)

Also, Victoria, one of IFP’s mainstays, recently got a 30+ hour a week job, that is taking a large chunk of her time.

With the aforementioned things, normal life, work, school, etc, we are not really sure where IFP is going now. We definitely want to keep producing music and audio dramas, and keep up on the podcast, but it will have to be on a lesser scale. And while we have more than a few ideas for audio dramas running around in our heads, we just haven’t had time to do anything with them. So we hope you guys still stick around with us in this season! Your prayers would be appreciated as we seek the Lord's will in where to take IFP next.

Thanks for your continued support of!  God bless!

Sarah Grace

Hey all!

As promised, here's some behind the scenes of our last recording session, during we we recorded Take Courage and I Have This Hope.

Enjoy watching us goof around as we set up and record. Please note: not all recording sessions are this complicated, silly or messy. ;) It's usually just us in a room with a mic.

ENJOY!

Thanks for watching, and have a blessed week!

I Have This Hope cover of Tenth Avenue North

7/5/2017

Comments

Hey everyone!

We're back with another song for you! This one is a cover of a Tenth Avenue North song, I Have This Hope. This one is the first song we recorded after not doing any for awhile, so it took us a bit to get back in the groove, and probably took us twice as long to record than it would have otherwise. We did have fun experimenting with some different recording techniques, one of which being sticking the mic and Victoria in the closet. :D It was tricky (and dark!) but we managed, and hopefully we have better quality because of it. We will have some fun behind the scenes videos and pictures coming next week, so stay tuned!

Thanks for listening and be sure to let us know what you thought! God bless, y'all!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

Take Courage by Victoria Lynn

Y'all! We are back!! We are SO thrilled to be producing music again. It's been how long? Well, Sarah Grace recorded and released a piano solo a month or so ago, but it's been SEVEN MONTHS since we did a song!! Wow! We'll definitely be trying not to let that much time lapse before we release another song. In fact, we already have another song recorded to be released in the near future, as well as various other songs in the works.

So, without further ado, enjoy our cover of Take Courage, originally by Bethel Music.

So what do you think? Do you have any suggestions for a song you would like us to cover?

Thanks for listening and for your support of IFP!

Blessings,

Hiding Place - Piano Solo

4/25/2017

Comments

As promised, here is a piano solo for you all to enjoy!

When I originally purchased this sheet music, I wasn't super excited about playing it, and didn't start working on it for a few months. I initially really struggled, but once I pulled out a pencil and started adding and deleting things from the sheet music, I was really happy with how it was turning out. Now, it is one of my favorite hymn arrangements! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed playing and recording it!

Thanks so much for listening! God bless!

Blessings,

Update -  April  24th, 2017

4/24/2017

Comments

Hello everyone!

We realize we have been strangely silent these past few months. Well, there is this thing called "life" that has been keeping us busy. With trying to keep our heads above water with all the other things we have had going on, we haven't had much time to work on audio projects or keep ya'll updated. Allow us to remedy that last part right now!

We initially planned on releasing Treasure Seekers on April 25th, but, due to life, as we mentioned, that unfortunately is not going to work.  We are going for a mid-May release date now, and will try to keep the deadline this time. ;) We are so close to being finished, and can't wait to share it with you!

We are also planning on releasing at least two songs sometime during May, as well as a piano solo we will be releasing later this week.

Over the last two months, we may not have been working on any audio dramas or music, but our brains have been busy thinking up all kinds of new projects! We hope to share them with you very soon!

Thank you all so much for sticking with us during our little hiatus. We can't wait to get back into the groove of releasing things regularly. God bless!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

March News - 2017 Edition

3/1/2017

Comments

Hello everyone!

It is finally March! Here's some info on what we have planned for the month!

TREASURE SEEKERS:
We are nearly finished with the mixing stage, and are currently working on composing music. We are still looking at a March release date, but are not sure exactly when yet. We will let you know when we know!  So excited to be reaching the end of this. We can't wait to share it with you guys!!

MUSIC:
Yes, we are fully aware of the fact that it has been over 2 months since we have released any music . . . I know we keep saying this, but we are working remedying that very soon! Hopefully March will be the month!  We have so many ideas of different songs we want to do, just so little time. A couple of our ideas are a Disney parody music video (it is going to be epic!) and a Hawk Nelson song paired with a classic hymn.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST:
This past month, Victoria flew solo as I (Sarah Grace) was out of commission. She discussed Les Miserables -- the book, the movie, the audio drama, and the music. Victoria did a great job; you don't want to miss this episode!

ICHTHUS FAMILY PUBLICATIONS:
If you missed it, we opened a new branch of IFP! We are now branching out into published works, starting with Victoria's debut novel, London in the Dark. It is currently in the publishing stages, and we will let you now when it is available for purchase. Victoria also has another novel, Bound, that she is currently releasing as a serial on her blog.

OTHER:
Our friends at Porchlight Family Media shared a new Verses in Vox featuring Victoria! You can check that out here.

Also, I (Sarah Grace) am hosting a writing contest called Stroke of the Pen! It is open to anyone to enter! You can find out more details and submit your entry if you decide to enter here.

I think that is all for now! Have a wonderful March!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

February News - 2017 Edition

1/26/2017

Comments

Hello everyone!

Here's some updates on what we cooking up in February!

TREASURE SEEKERS:
We are currently looking at a mid-March release date. We just finished with the sound design, and are moving forward with mixing and composing. We are so excited to have accomplished another milestone in this project. Can't wait to share it with you guys!

MUSIC:
Due to work on Treasure Seekers and . . . ahem . . . another project that is in the works, we haven't very much time to devote to music production. But, we hope to get back to that within the next few months! We are also planning a fun, parody song that we hope to release sometime here in February. Just a few hints: it is about coffee, and the song is a popular Disney song. Give us your best guesses in the comments below!

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST:
After a short hiatus, we are back with a review of a fantasy series of books, AND another author interview! You can check out that episode here. Going forward, we are planning more book reviews, and another episode about old movies.

OTHER:
In February, we are opening a new 'branch' of Ichthus Family Productions! But, that is all we are going to say for now! Subscribe so you don't miss that announcement!

Also, Porchlight Family Media released a new Verses in Vox, in which our own Victoria did the reading! Be sure to check it out!

Thank you all so much for your support of IFP! God bless, and have a happy February!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

A Recapitulation of 2016

12/30/2016

Comments

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”

to quote Charles Dickens. 2016 has been a crazy busy year, filled with good times, and hard times, but God has been faithful through it all!

Here is a recap of the things we have worked on in the last year:

In January, we released a song for the New year. It was a quiet month, as we wrapped up the final touches of our first audio drama.

In February, we released our first ever audio drama, Sarah, Plain and Tall. It was the product of a year’s worth of work, and a quite a few years’ worth of dreaming. We also released a short, 4-song “EP” about love, including Beautiful, How Deep the Father’s Love for Us, Live Like You’re Loved, and Even Me,  which featured the vocal talents of Elisa Yvonne and Isabella. Live Like You’re Loved has by far become our most popular production, reaching over 1000 plays on Soundcloud. We also celebrated the release of Do Unto Others, a short audio drama produced by Audio Drama Alliance, in which Sarah Grace assisted in post-production.

In March, we released a short-form audio drama skit entitled Lies and Otherwise. Isabella’s debut into the script writing world was quite a success.  We also released a piano duet version of Forever by Kari Jobe just in time for Easter.

We started a podcast in April, called Our Favorite Things | A ChatCast. The hosts, Victoria and Sarah Grace chat about their favorite media, everything from books and music, to audio dramas, and more! We have since released 12 episodes. We also released what is perhaps one of our favorite songs, A Jungle Book Medley. The Audio Drama Alliance released their second production in association with IFP.

We started our May with the release of Even When It Hurts, cover of Hillsong. It embodied some of our emotions as we struggled with the passing of a loved one. We also announced our next audio drama, Treasure Seekers, which is still in production. Also in May, we shared two piano solos, Midnight Rhapsody, and Moonlight Fantasy, by Sarah Grace and Victoria, respectively.

In June, we shared three songs, Times, cover of Tenth Avenue North, a piano solo No More Tears, and an a Capella version of It is Well, which we dedicated in loving memory of Sharon Felten. Mrs. Felten, who passed away on May 23rd, 2016, was an amazing wife, mama, friend, and musician, and we were honored to produce this song in her honor.

In July, we released a version of our country’s national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. We also kicked up production on Treasure Seekers and really got rolling.

August, we also busily worked away on Treasure Seekers,  releasing one song, a Polonaise by Bach.

For September, we again released one song, The Acceleration of Time. The voice track editing for Treasure Seekers drew to a close, and we started working on Foley and sound design. Audio Drama Alliance released their 3rd production, also in association with IFP

In October we celebrated IFP’s first anniversary with a huge giveaway. We also shared the trailer and cover art for Treasure Seekers on World Audio Drama day. Audio Drama Alliance released their 4th production, written by none other than Victoria herself.

November 1st we released a song that was very dear to our hearts, More of You, cover of Colton Dixon. Also, we produced Still the One in honor of the 28th anniversary of two of the most important people in our lives, our parents, Brian and Michelle.

We kicked off December with our first ever music video! ‘December Song’ was a ton of fun to work on, and it was a pleasure working with our videographer, Matthew. We also shared a unique piano solo arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

That wraps up our 2016 year in recap! Thank you all so much for being on this journey with us. Without your support, we couldn’t continue doing what we are doing. You guys are the best! Here’s to 2017! God bless you all!

By God’s grace alone,
The team at Ichthus Family Productions.
