Hey all!

As promised, here's some behind the scenes of our last recording session, during we we recorded Take Courage and I Have This Hope.

Enjoy watching us goof around as we set up and record. Please note: not all recording sessions are this complicated, silly or messy. ;) It's usually just us in a room with a mic.

ENJOY!

Thanks for watching, and have a blessed week!

Blessings,

Treasure Seekers Release and a Big Thank You

5/27/2017

Comments

If you missed it, our original full-length audio drama Treasure Seekers released yesterday, May 26! You can find it here, or under the "productions" page. Please check it out, and be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you thought! Comments are like chocolate; you always need 'em, and you can never have too many. ;)

We started brain-storming\scripting Treasure Seekers in the beginning of April 2016. Things became crazy for all of us, so it was set on the back burner and we didn't start recording until the end of June. We then moved forward into sound design, music and mix, finishing the project up literally the night before we released it. It was a long, bumpy journey that led up to May 26, and I think some thanks are due to all the people who supported us during that year.

First off, to God. Without Him, this project would have been impossible. I am so thankful for the opportunity He has given us to do this. All glory to Him!

Secondly, to our parents. They supported, encouraged, and helped in any way they could, and we are so grateful to them for that. And they listened patiently to me (Sarah Grace) as I rambled on and on about what I accomplished in the project on whatever day, even though I was talking "tech speak" over their heads. ;)

Thirdly, to Matthew, Elisa, Joshua, and Elijah. Matthew, your support and advice were invaluable, and that Presonus mixing tool was the best gift ever! Thank you! Elisa and Josh, your encouragement throughout the this journey was irreplaceable. And Elijah, your patience, never-ending willingness to do literally anything to help us, and your jokes that kept recording days light was priceless! You are awesome, buddy!

A big thank you also to the various friends and acquaintances that encouraged or supported us unknowingly, or by asking about it, or encouraging us or giving advice: Allison, Mary, Christopher, Nathan, JD, and many others!

One last thank you to my team members, Luke, Victoria, Isaiah, Isabella, and Josiah; you guys are awesome, and I am so proud of the way we worked together as a team to pull this off! Here's to many more projects!

A Dio sia la gloria!

November News

Happy November!

TREASURE SEEKERS:
We are hard at work on this! We have been set back a bit in the past two months or so, but we are making a ton of progress now! I am about a third of the way done with the sound design, and it is going very well! This afternoon, in order to record the perfect sound effect, I climbed a tree . . . one-handed. Wouldn't really recommend it. I had my recorder (my amazing, uber-expensive Zoom H5) in my left hand, and climbed the tree with my right, recording the sound of someone climbing a tree. Despite it being a bit windy, they turned out pretty well and will fit perfectly into the scene I need them for.
Also, in case you missed it, we released the trailer and cover art for Treasure Seekers! Check it out on the "Treasure Seekers" tab under the "Productions" tab on our menu bar. The cover art was a lot of fun to do; I painted it with the help of 4 people over my shoulder, directing me. It was really a group project. ;)

MUSIC:
We FINALLY jumped back into the music production world with the release of More of You and Still the One.  Both were a ton of fun to do, and we are pretty pleased with the way they turned out! Check them out on our Music page. We are going to be working on a pretty epic Christmas music video for our next song, so we might be into the new year before we get back to regular programming.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST:
In October, we released Episode 10 of Our Favorite Things, about our top 5 favorite musicals. We had a ton of fun in that episode, be sure to check it out if you haven't! We are not sure yet what we are going to talk about this month. What would YOU like us to talk about for the next episode?  Books, movies, music or audio dramas? Let us know!

Well, I think that is all for this month! Thanks for all your support, and God bless!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

Anniversary + Treasure Seekers Trailer\Cover Art

10/30/2016

Comments

Stay tuned to the bottom of this post to hear the official trailer forTreasure Seekers, as well as see the cover artwork!

This studio started with a dream. A small one albeit, that grew even beyond our own expectations. After our audio drama listening expanded quite a bit in 2014, I had the desire for voice acting. I was thinking how to get started and had the idea that it would be fun if we could produce something small. So I went into our library and pulled the smallest book off the shelf. Sarah, Plain and Tall. To these novices, we were like, “oh no problem, we’ll figure this out and have it posted in few months.” I laugh now at how naïve we were.

Our desire for perfection pushed us to really learn and excel at what we were doing. Our little project taught us so much. We learned audio production from the ground up. Sarah Grace, who is our producer\audio engineer, continues to strive and learn more and more as time goes on. Instead of using stock sound effects, we recorded most of the sound effects ourselves. And the music was composed in house as well.

Speaking of music, it has always been a passion of our family’s, with singers, pianists, and a guitar player among the siblings, we have played/sang in some capacity for many years always with the desire to record music. Now, with Ichthus we have that ability, and it has become a huge part of what we do here.

All that little history to say that we are so excited that our one-year anniversary has rolled around! We have really been working on this for longer, but Ichthus was officially launched on October 30th, World Audio Drama day in 2015. We have accomplished so much in one year, from releasing our first audio drama and an audio drama skit to starting a second feature length production, as well as releasing 22 songs, starting a podcast, and participating in other projects from the Audio Drama Alliance andPorchlight Family Media.

In honor of this, we have put together a giveaway with the purpose of spreading the word about what we do here. We included some of our top picks for audio drama as well as a physical copy of Sarah, Plain and Tall, and a CD of 7 of our favorite songs. Pleasecheck it out if you haven’t already and enter! You have one more day with the opportunity to win some awesome “prizeage”!

Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner on Monday, Oct. 31st at 3:00 p.m. EST.
Thank you all for sticking with us and watching us grow!

Blessings,
Victoria

Over a year ago, Victoria wrote a script entitled  Howard and Jackson: Case File #001, originally to be produced by Porchlight Family Media. When both PFM and IFP joined the Audio Drama Alliance (ADA) in the end of 2015, this production was moved to ADA to be produced. At long last, it is released! We are so excited to share with you

Howard & Jackson "Case File #001 – The Case of the Missing Violin".

Check it out on the Audio Drama Alliance website here. Please be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you thought!

It was written by Victoria, with voice tracks edited by Sarah Grace. We were honored to be able to work with Porchlight Family Media, GreenStreams Studio, Solitary Badger Entertainment, Adventure Alley Productions, and Solomon Kim Music.

Go check it out and let us know what you thought!

Polonaise-Piano Solo

8/24/2016

Comments

Hello everyone!

Today we have a piano solo to share with you! It is a Polonaise (specifically Polonaise in B flat Major) by Bach.

I love this song, as it hearkens back to my Polish heritage. A polonaise is a Polish dance in 3\4 time (3 beats per measure). It is similar to a Waltz or Polka.  The name "Polonaise" is French for "Polish".  Polonaise was a common dance at carnivals in 15th century Poland, and is always the first dance at a "studniówka", which is basically the Polish version of a high school prom.

Originally, I didn't love this piece, but the more I played it, the more I loved it! I played it for a piano SAT test in March 2016, and received a score of 22 out of 24 points. I love this piece, and still play it from time to time! Definitely one of my favorites!

Thanks so much for listening! Please leave a comment and let me know what you thought of this piece! God bless!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

May News

5/3/2016

Comments

Hey everyone!
Welcome to May! Spring is finally here! Here is some stuff we have planned for May.

AUDIO DRAMA:
We have finalized the script for our next audio drama and we cannot wait to for you to hear it! Writing went very well. After a few fun team “brainstorm” meetings, Victoria had it written in about a week’s time. It is going to be even bigger and better (hopefully) than Sarah, Plain and Tall! This month we will begin recording, and hopefully get into post-production by the end of the month. I (Sarah Grace) am getting itchy to do some sound design! It’s going to be a lot of fun! We may even have a guest star(s)!  Stay on the lookout for more details coming soon! We are so excited for this one! Here is a sneak peak of the script!  Grab a magnifying glass!

Also, in early April, The Audio Drama Alliance (of which IFP is thrilled to be a part of) released their second production, in which Victoria helped in post-production. Check that out here if you haven’t already. Also in the works for ADA is another production, which both Victoria and I will be a part of. We can’t wait for you to hear that one also. We will be sure to let you know when it releases.

MUSIC:
This month we plan to release some pieces from me, Victoria, and Isabella. Some vocal and a few piano solos we think you guys will enjoy! Stay on the lookout for those!

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST:
If you guys remember, in April we started our podcast, Our Favorite Things | A ChatCast. We released the first two episodes and plan to release two more here in May. Our next episode will be about two novels written by independent author, Julia Erickson. Keep your eyes on the Our Favorite Things website, and if you haven’t already, check out our first two episodes!

God bless and have a wonderful day!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

Behind the Scenes of Sarah, Plain and Tall

3/18/2016

Comments

Hey guys!

Here’s some behind-the-scene (BTS) stories from the making of Sarah, Plain and Tall!

We honestly had NO clue what we were doing when we first started! To be perfectly (and quite brutally) honest, I (Sarah Grace) knew next to nothing about recording\sound design. Someone asked me what I was “recording into”, and I had no idea what he was talking about! I didn’t know what a DAW was, and I certainly had no idea how to even begin sound designing. This was definitely a learning process!
