The Script for Sarah Plain and tall was written/adapted from the book in all of 2 days and we were off and rolling.
Unfortunately, it would take us a few months to start recording because we were railroaded by the nastiest cold that I have ever experienced. Translated to 6-8 weeks of congestion and cough. I was so fed up waiting, that we finally started recording and often had to suck on cough drops between takes.
We worked on recording (which took us a long time) all summer and Sarah Grace started sound design and editing in the early fall. Thankfully, we have streamlined it since then! Foley was fun! We recorded lots of footsteps! I had different shoes for each character. One of my favorite Foley moments was when Sarah Grace climbed up a ladder leaning against the house holding the microphone with the cord stretched as far as it would go, the computer under a container to protect it and me throwing marbles onto the roof in an effort to get the sound of hail. THAT, was fun. Sloshing around in the cold pond in the end of November was NOT fun. Just sayin!
We hope to release our first feature length project Sarah Plain and Tall in February. We are so excited and working really hard!
In November, we released the Intro to our Mini-series Logistics of a Large Family. That was a lot of fun and the kids all enjoyed being a part of it.
In December, we released the first Episode of Logistics of a Large Family.
We also released a playlist of 5 Christmas songs. You can check them out here. This was really awesome to do. Each of us got to use our musical abilities. There are vocal, piano, and cello arrangements of 5 of our favorite Christmas Hymns.
In honor of the new year, we produced this song. We hope you have as much fun listening to it as we did making it!
We hope you enjoy the ride coming in 2016! May God bless you and your year!
In Christ,
Victoria
