November News

Happy November!

TREASURE SEEKERS:
We are hard at work on this! We have been set back a bit in the past two months or so, but we are making a ton of progress now! I am about a third of the way done with the sound design, and it is going very well! This afternoon, in order to record the perfect sound effect, I climbed a tree . . . one-handed. Wouldn't really recommend it. I had my recorder (my amazing, uber-expensive Zoom H5) in my left hand, and climbed the tree with my right, recording the sound of someone climbing a tree. Despite it being a bit windy, they turned out pretty well and will fit perfectly into the scene I need them for.
Also, in case you missed it, we released the trailer and cover art for Treasure Seekers! Check it out on the "Treasure Seekers" tab under the "Productions" tab on our menu bar. The cover art was a lot of fun to do; I painted it with the help of 4 people over my shoulder, directing me. It was really a group project. ;)

MUSIC:
We FINALLY jumped back into the music production world with the release of More of You and Still the One.  Both were a ton of fun to do, and we are pretty pleased with the way they turned out! Check them out on our Music page. We are going to be working on a pretty epic Christmas music video for our next song, so we might be into the new year before we get back to regular programming.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST:
In October, we released Episode 10 of Our Favorite Things, about our top 5 favorite musicals. We had a ton of fun in that episode, be sure to check it out if you haven't! We are not sure yet what we are going to talk about this month. What would YOU like us to talk about for the next episode?  Books, movies, music or audio dramas? Let us know!

Well, I think that is all for this month! Thanks for all your support, and God bless!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

Anniversary + Treasure Seekers Trailer\Cover Art

10/30/2016

Comments

Stay tuned to the bottom of this post to hear the official trailer forTreasure Seekers, as well as see the cover artwork!

This studio started with a dream. A small one albeit, that grew even beyond our own expectations. After our audio drama listening expanded quite a bit in 2014, I had the desire for voice acting. I was thinking how to get started and had the idea that it would be fun if we could produce something small. So I went into our library and pulled the smallest book off the shelf. Sarah, Plain and Tall. To these novices, we were like, “oh no problem, we’ll figure this out and have it posted in few months.” I laugh now at how naïve we were.

Our desire for perfection pushed us to really learn and excel at what we were doing. Our little project taught us so much. We learned audio production from the ground up. Sarah Grace, who is our producer\audio engineer, continues to strive and learn more and more as time goes on. Instead of using stock sound effects, we recorded most of the sound effects ourselves. And the music was composed in house as well.

Speaking of music, it has always been a passion of our family’s, with singers, pianists, and a guitar player among the siblings, we have played/sang in some capacity for many years always with the desire to record music. Now, with Ichthus we have that ability, and it has become a huge part of what we do here.

All that little history to say that we are so excited that our one-year anniversary has rolled around! We have really been working on this for longer, but Ichthus was officially launched on October 30th, World Audio Drama day in 2015. We have accomplished so much in one year, from releasing our first audio drama and an audio drama skit to starting a second feature length production, as well as releasing 22 songs, starting a podcast, and participating in other projects from the Audio Drama Alliance andPorchlight Family Media.

In honor of this, we have put together a giveaway with the purpose of spreading the word about what we do here. We included some of our top picks for audio drama as well as a physical copy of Sarah, Plain and Tall, and a CD of 7 of our favorite songs. Pleasecheck it out if you haven’t already and enter! You have one more day with the opportunity to win some awesome “prizeage”!

Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner on Monday, Oct. 31st at 3:00 p.m. EST.
Thank you all for sticking with us and watching us grow!

Blessings,
Victoria

And now . . . dun dun DUN! The official trailer for IFP's newest audio drama, Treasure Seekers!

And here if the official artwork for this audio drama.

October News

10/1/2016

 Hello everyone!

Seems like it's been awhile, even though it has only been a month. September seemed to drag on, yet fly by all at once!

Here's what we got planned for this month:

TREASURE SEEKERS:
We are still working hard on this! We are still planning on heading up to a local bike trail to record some Foley for certain scenes. We will be sure to take a ton of pictures to share with you all!
We are full steam ahead on this for the next 3 months! In October, we plan to release a trailer\promo, and the official cover art. So stay tuned for that!

MUSIC:
Yet again, we still haven't been able to work on any music, but trust us, it is still our goal to do so! Unfortunately, before we were able to do anything, most of us came down with colds, and are still recovering. So here in October, we will try again to make that happen! We did release a piano solo, which you can check out here.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST
In September, we released TWO episode of Our Favorite Things! An episode featuring our 4 top four indie artists, plus a bonus episode with a "get to know the hosts" Q&A for International Podcast Day! Those were both a ton of fun to do, and if you haven't already, go check them out!

OTHER:
If you haven't already, the poll we mentioned last month is still open, and we would love to hear your thoughts! We would love it if you would head on over and fill it out. It will only take a couple minutes of time. You can find it here.

I think that's about it! Are you guys excited for Treasure Seekers? What is a song you would like us to do a cover of? Thanks for your support of IFP! God bless!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to September! Only 4 months left in the year! Crazy! Here's what we've got planned for the month of September.

AUDIO DRAMA:
We are still in the sound design stage of this production. It is coming along swimmingly, and we are so excited for you guys to hear it! In September, our composers (Victoria, Isaiah and Isabella) will begin working on the score, as I (Sarah Grace) continue working on sound design.

MUSIC:

In August, due to some unforeseen circumstances (aka, being sick for two straight weeks) we weren't able to work on any music. We definitely are going to try to release at least one vocal piece, as well as one to two piano pieces. We plan to release a fun piano solo commemorating the first day of Fall, on September 22.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST:
If you missed the last episode of Our Favorite Things, we talked about an audio drama series we love! You should definitely go listen to it! Check out the previous episode here, where we chatted with an Indie author, and reviewed an amazing book series! Also, we did a bit of re-branding on how we hosted our podcast, and you can now subscribe on Stitcher Radio or follow us on Kiwi6!

OTHER:
Also, we put together a survey that we would love to get your feedback on. It is only 4 simple questions, and we'd love to get your thoughts on how we can make IFP better! Please check it out below:

Thank you so much for your support of IFP and have a wonderful September! God bless!

August News

8/1/2016

Hello everyone!

Welcome to August! Here is what we have going on this month.

TREASURE SEEKERS:
The bad news is, the actor we had planned to act a minor character was unable to do it. We are still working on getting this characters lines recorded. The good news is we are finished (except for slotting the aforementioned character’s lines in) with the voice track editing. We are getting closer to the finish line by the day! I am so excited to work on the sound design\Foley. We hope to make a big dent in getting this project finished these next two months.

MUSIC:
This month we plan to do more music. We have been so busy with Treasure Seekers this past month, we haven’t been able to work on anything else. We are excited to jump back into music. We will have a piano solo or two, plus Victoria has a song very dear to her heart she can’t wait to work on.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS | A CHATCAST:
July’s episode was a ton of fun! We chatted about a series of books we love, and we also got to interview the author! It was a blast to be able to “meet” the author and get to chat with her. You can check out that episode here if you haven’t heard it yet.  For August’s episode, we plan to talk about audio dramas!
Also, Our Favorite Things is now on Stitcher! You can listen and subscribe there!

That’s pretty much it for this month! Thanks so much for your support of Ichthus Family Productions!

Blessings,

Sarah, Plain and Tall Reaches 100 Plays

7/14/2016

Comments

Hello everyone!

A few days ago, I noticed we had reached 100 plays on Sarah, Plain and Tall. I think some thanks are in order.

In February of 2015, Ichthus Family Productions started out with the simple idea to make an audio drama. We had no hopes of anything big, we just loved audio drama, and wanted to try our hand at making it. We didn’t think very many people would listen to it, just family and a few friends. We decided to do an adaptation of a book that is a family favorite of our’s.
We wrote this on a whim, recorded it with a borrowed copy of Ableton and a borrowed microphone. Ableton wasn’t working for us, so we ended up waiting 3 months for a new, free software to come out. A friend gifted us with a copy of a similar free software, and we were back in business.
By now it was July, and we hoped to have a release date of sometime in September. At this point, after a brain storming session at the dinner table, we came up with the name Ichthus Family Productions. We decided to start a website, but that didn’t happen until the end of October. We all worked really hard, but were still a long way off from the September deadline we hoped for. That deadline got pushed to October 1st, then November, finally we hoped for the beginning of January 2016, but that too got bumped back to February 9th, 2016.

We finally finished Sarah, Plain and Tall and released it on February 9th.

We were so thrilled at the feedback we got so quickly! We started out with the hopes of maybe 20 people listening to it, but, thanks to you guys’ help, it grew so much bigger!

We would like to thank all of you who listened to Sarah, Plain and Tall, but specifically those who listened and told us what they thought.

Thank you to Roy, Tobin, Colton, Nathan, JD, Christopher, HelloItsMello, and Auterey.

We would also like to thank specifically JD Sutter and the team at Audio Theatre Central for their amazing review of Sarah, Plain and Tall,  Christopher Green for promoting it, and Auterey for sharing it on his online radio station.

We wouldn’t be doing what we are doing without you guys! Thank you so much for your overwhelming support! God bless you guys!

Blessings,
Sarah Grace

July News

Hey ya'll!

Happy July! It is hard to believe it's July already! Seems like just yesterday it was still Winter!

Here's our July News!

TREASURE SEEKERS:
We are full steam ahead with Treasure Seekers. I am nearly halfway through the VT edit, and after that comes sound design, which I hope to start by the end of the month. This project is coming along swimmingly! Recording was a breeze, and we are just waiting on one of the actors to get his lines to us. This project is turning out better than we had hoped and we can't wait to share it with you!  In the meantime, you can check out the page on our website for it, the first page listed under the 'productions' tab.

MUSIC:
Because we are trying to put all our efforts into Treasure Seekers right now, we don't have any music planned. But that's not to say we won't do something on the spur of the moment. Just stayed tuned to our website so you don't miss anything.

OUR FAVORITE THINGS: A CHATCAST:
In case you missed it, last episode Victoria and I were joined by Isabella. We chatted about the classic novel "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott, as well as the various movie, and audio drama adaptations. You can check that episode out here. And be sure to leave a comment or contact us and let us know what you thought! Next episode releases July 27, and we tentatively plan to talk about a series of books we just discovered that we love! Join us then!

Well, I think that's about it! Are you guys excited about Treasure Seekers? Have you listened to our podcast? What did you think?

Blessings,
Sarah Grace
